Many of our team members come from the Early Childhood Education and Care sector and use their experience and expertise to provide relatable and knowledgeable information and advice.

Leadership

Dr. Karina Davis
CEO

Dr. Karina Davis is the newly appointed CEO of ELAA. Dr. Davis brings a wealth of experience in partnerships and advocacy, along with a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and transformative leadership. Before joining ELAA, Dr. Davis built an extensive and impactful career across the education and not-for-profit sectors, where she championed systemic change, diversity, and inclusion. Her leadership experience includes serving as CEO of Jobsbank, Executive Director of Education at Monash College, and Executive Director of Programs and Educational Leadership at Melbourne Polytechnic. Dr. Davis’s commitment to Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) has been a lifelong passion. Beginning her professional career as an early childhood teacher and later earning a Ph.D. from the University of Melbourne, focusing her research on teaching and learning about Indigenous Australians within the early childhood curriculum.

Katrina Nightingale
General Manager - Member Solutions

With over 30 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector across educational, leadership and consultancy roles, Katrina leads ELAA’s Member Solutions team in providing advice and support to ELAA members. Katrina uses her extensive experience in long day care, kindergarten, and vocational education and training to provide exceptional advice on a range of matters from legislative requirements, leadership and service management to professional development programs, resource development and intensive support for services experiencing complex issues.
