We are pleased to report positive progress on the bargaining process for VECTEA/EEEA, the enterprise agreement covering over 5,000 employees working in Victoria's kindergartens. A range of important improvements to employee wages, conditions and career pathways are emerging, through our detailed dialogue with the Australian Education Union.
On behalf of our members, ELAA has advocated for the following items in discussions:
- Recognising teacher leadership roles in services, which includes providing an allowance and non-contact time for service leaders in kindergarten settings.
- Introducing an educational leader’s allowance along with additional non-contact time for educational leaders.
- Clarifying the use of organisational days (setup and pack-up days).
- Repurposing the activity group leader classification for use in extended care kindergarten programs.
