New ACECQA resources to support inclusion

The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) has developed free new national resources to support service teams to build understanding of Disability Discrimination Act requirements and support inclusion in children’s education and care services. These resources are for the use of educators, service leaders, approved providers and interested others.  

The resources include eight tip sheets that cover a range of topics including:  

• inclusive inductions 
• supporting conversations with families and carers 
• accessible recruitment  
• making reasonable adjustments.  

ACECQA has also included team meeting and recruitment and induction packages to support services to unpack disability discrimination, reflect on current practice, and plan for continuous improvement.
